Players from Dominican Republic celebrating their come-from- behind victory over Puerto Rico in Pan Am Cup Miami, Florida, July 3, 2009 - The Dominican Republic made a sensational comeback to beat Puerto Rico in a five-set thriller advancing to the gold medal match of the Eighth Women’s Pan American Cup against Brazil, winners over USA on Friday night. The defending champions recovered from two sets down and a four-point deficit (18-14) in the third frame to secure their fifth appearance in the finals of this qualifier to the annual FIVB World Grand Prix. The score was 34-36, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-9. Meanwhile, Olympic champions Brazil came back from one set down to defeat world second ranked USA. After losing the opening frame in a well fought battle, the Brazilians finally put everything together and displayed all their weapons the rest of the way to win by score of 22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-14.
